Lesson script
Choose a form (A A B A or A B). Write numbers first. Add a right-hand melody using chord tones on strong beats and neighbor tones on weak beats. Title it. Silence still matters — leave air. Done when: someone else can play your chart without you demonstrating twice.
Instrument paths
- Piano: Chart on paper on the stand.
- Strings: Optional countermelody.
- Percussion: Count-off by the composer.
Learning modes
- Solo child: Compose + notate letters/numbers.
- Child + parent: Parent is first performer of the child’s chart.
- Family: Family premiere with program note.
