Lesson script
Cynthia’s ladder: single bass note → octaves → 1-5-1 (root–fifth–root) once muscle memory arrives. Also try her moving pattern idea: keep a common tone and shift neighbors (as in her C to F second-inversion move). Stay in A–F–G or C–F–G neighborhoods. Done when: one song chart uses octaves or 1-5-1 for a full verse.
Instrument paths
- Piano: LH patterns under RH triads.
- Strings: Bass mirrors 1-5-1.
- Percussion: Kick on 1, light snare on 3.
Learning modes
- Solo child: Pattern gym for 5 minutes then apply.
- Child + parent: Parent locks RH chords; child owns bass.
- Family: Bass/chords/percussion trio.
