Lesson script
Play 1–4–5–1 in 4 (1-2-3-4). Then play the same chords in 3 (1-2-3). Notice how emotion changes when the space between chords changes. Greensleeves / What Child Is This lives naturally in a three feel — try Am-centered numbers from the book’s Greensleeves chart if you have Music is Numbers open. Done when: family can feel the difference without being told.
Instrument paths
- Piano: Block chords on downbeats.
- Strings: Waltz bass 1–5–1 in 3 if ready.
- Percussion: 1 stronger than 2/3 or 2/3/4.
Learning modes
- Solo child: Metronome optional; body count better.
- Child + parent: Parent conducts 4 then 3.
- Family: Dance vs sway test.
