Lesson script

Every written note has a place on the keyboard. Middle C can appear with different time values, but it is still home.

Today: look in Reading Music is Easy at the Middle C examples. Point on the page, then play the matching key. Notice how chords on spaces in one hand often sit on lines in the other.

Done when: three page→key matches are correct in a row.

Instrument paths

  • Piano: Book open on the music stand; slow matches.
  • Strings: Optional: match pitch after the piano finds it.
  • Percussion: Tap once per correct match.

Learning modes

  • Solo child: Child uses the book as a map.
  • Child + parent: Parent points on the page only; child finds the key.
  • Family: Sibling quiz with two keys and one page cue.
