Lesson script
An octave is the same letter name eight tones apart — 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8. LH: Middle C with thumb + lower C with pinky. RH: Middle C with thumb + higher C with pinky. Then walk octaves around the keyboard alternating hands, saying the letter. Add pedal ambience. Try rhythms of heartbeat, walking, rain — drama in the space. Done when: you can play C, F, and G octaves in either hand.
