The inversion pattern applies to every chord. Work slowly through: Dm (D–F–A), Em (E–G–B), F (F–A–C), G (G–B–D), Am (A–C–E). For each: root, put the old middle note on the bottom? Better: take the bottom note and move it to the top for 1st inversion; repeat for 2nd. Use Cynthia’s chart energy: small shifts, shared tones, less jumping. Done when: two chords of your choice can invert cleanly without stopping.
Instrument paths
- Piano: Close-position inversions; chart as reference.
- Strings: Root pedal tone while inversions move.
- Percussion: One tap per inversion change.
Learning modes
- Solo child: Child picks two chords to master today.
- Child + parent: Parent reads chart; child realizes shapes on the keys.
- Family: Pass the chord around the circle — each person plays next inversion.
