Lesson script
Cynthia compares noodling to doodling: random shapes that sometimes become keepers. Rules for today: white keys only; listen for a pattern you want twice in a row. If it works, write the letter names on paper. Alternate left-hand A and G octaves (clear pedal on changes) while the right hand noodles — then invite F. Done when: one saved 4-note (or longer) pattern exists on paper.
Instrument paths
- Piano: White-key noodle with A–G–F octave moves.
- Strings: Answer phrases on strings.
- Percussion: Ostinato tap under the keeper riff.
Learning modes
- Solo child: Solo save-the-riff challenge.
- Child + parent: Parent noodles; child notates letters; swap.
- Family: Each person contributes one bar to a family doodle.
